The CSP Tracing Utility on Windows VistaWindows Vista uses a protected mode to prevent random programs from making changes to operating system settings such as the CSP registry entries. This stops the CSP Trace Utility from enabling and disabling tracing on the CSPs. Vista also has an application compatibility mode which can cause the Tracing CSP's logs to end up in different places depending on the Vista compatibility of the application that invokes it. The best work-around at this time is to disable these protections while tracing the activity of a CSP. Disabling the Vista User Account Control is the simplest way to do that. Here's how:
